2010 Earth Day at the Texas Medical Center

2010 Eeath Day posterThe Texas Medical Center consists of 49 member institutions, with 82,200 employees, 69,000 students and approximately 160,000 visitors every day. Through this annual celebration, the TMC community learns about the benefits of recycling, ways to reduce one's ecological footprint, and how the TMC is going green. Special events at this year's Earth Day celebration included a Prize Wheel that awarded prizes continuously during the event, electric car demonstrations and collection of various items--such as eye glasses and hearing aids--for recycling. We also gave out native tree seedlings and had music this year. All of the food court restaurants were open--with Waterside Cafe offering a special Earth Day Buffet!
